While there visit the gallery next door stock full of talented local artists and sculptors. The sitting area has a smart TV with Freeview and WiFi is available throughout. The dining area has table and chairs for six and great views looking out over the courtyard and the patio area. Area details
Formerly a village in its own right, Upwey is now a suburb of Weymouth, approximately 4 miles north of the town centre. The village has several notable buldings including a 13th century church and a Manor house.
Read moreTo the north of the village lie the chalk ridge of the South Dorset Downs. At the foot of these lies the River Wey which then flows through the village. The source, known as the Upwey Wishing Well has been a tourist attraction from Victorian times, and remains so to this day with a tea room on the site and beautiful water gardens.
Upwey is very picturesque with the Old Mill on the banks of the river and with the beautiful countryside surrounding the village you could easily forget that Weymouth is just 4 miles away. There is no need to travel to Weymouth for a bite to eat either as The Old Ship Inn and The Riverhouse Inn do an admiral job.
