Ammonite Cottage is a character terraced cottage set in the heart of Wareham arranged over three floors. Lots of period features have been retained while allowing for modern comforts to be seamlessly integrated. The town amenities are within a short walk from the front door for shopping, eating out and entertainment. There is much to explore both on your doorstep and slightly further afield including sandy beaches, glorious countryside, the Swanage Steam Railway, Corfe Castle, Lulworth Castle, The Tank Museum and Monkey World to name just a few.
The accommodation at Ammonite Cottage comprises of a sitting room with cosy wood burning stove, Smart TV, DVD player and WiFi. the dining area has a gas burning stove, table and seating for seven. The kitchen has a Rayburn and electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, wine cooler, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. A sun room and cloakroom round off the ground floor. There are four bedrooms arranged over the two upper floors, a king size double, a double, a twin and a single. There is a bathroom with hand-held shower, separate shower and basin and a toilet on the first floor. A stairgate, highchair and travel cot can be arranged if needed.
Outside is a garden with a series of lawn and patio areas complete with furniture. There is off road parking for 2 cars. Your fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.

With a 2000 year history there is much to see in historic Wareham. A market town on the banks of the River Frome, Wareham is the gateway to the Isle of Purbeck. There are many walks and cycle paths so it make for an excellent place to start your discovery of this beautiful part of Dorset.

The Wareham Music Festival is held every August and is a celebration of all kinds of music showcasing local talent as well as attracting musicians from outside of Dorset. Events are held throughout the town at the Quay, Town Hall and from local pubs. The Wareham Carnival is celebrated in July with events, stalls, music and fireworks. During the summer you will encounter Wareham Wednesdays, held over six weeks with each day having a different theme from pram racing to tug of war. There are a huge amount of events at RSPB Arne which is covered in more detail below.
Wareham Town Museum is located in the heart of Wareham and is open Monday to Saturday all year round. The exhibits include T E Lawrence, archaeology, social history, pottery, history and even the Royal Naval Cordite Factory. Exhibits do change and there are events held often throughout the year. Wareham Boat Hire are located on the Quay and offer a variety of ways to get on the water and enjoy the River Frome. A great way to see the wildlife, you can hire motor boats, kayaks, canoes, rowing boats and paddle boards.
RSPB Arne is a nature reserve set in almost 1,400 acres and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Opened back in 1966, it is a diverse landscape covering acid grassland, salt marsh, woodland, reed beds and mudflats. It has featured in BBC's Countryfile and has a huge variety of wildlife and plant life. It is a bird spotters paradise with Dartford Warblers, Nightjar, Woodlark and Spoonbills just some of the many species that can be seen. There is a large herd of Sika Deer on the park and no fewer than 22 species of dragonfly have been spotted. If you are a fan of nature then this is the place to visit.
With almost 50 restaurants, pubs, cafes and tea rooms in the town then you will not be short of variety in where to eat out in Wareham. Curry lovers in particular will be happy with two outstanding restaurants.
