The Little Sea House is a rarity - the opportunity to stay right on the sea's edge on Monmouth Bay at Lyme Regis. With its own decked area you can dine al fresco, sunbathe or just relax and watch the world sail past. With views stretching across Lyme Bay all the way to Portland on a clear day there is always something to watch. The location is really quite like no other as recognised by its World Heritage Status in this beautiful part of the Jurassic Coast. The beach itself is shingle and sand and is perfect all year round. The chalet itself is new and built to a high specification with comfortable accommodation with homely touches. In addition, The Little Sea House accepts one small to medium well behaved pet.
The accommodation at The Little Sea House comprises of a cosy living area with wonderful sea views with a 3 seater day bed with a 4ft 6inch mattress, directors chair, electric flame effect stove, fold out coffee table with stools and a TV. Patio doors lead out to the deck which have roller blinds for privacy. The kitchen has an electric 2 hob oven and grill, microwave, fridge with ice box compartment, kettle, toaster and dishwasher. There is also a small breakfast bar and preparation area. The shower room has shower cubicle, toilet and hand basin. The mezzanine level is accessed by a fold away loft ladder and leads to a single bed suitable for a child or teenager. Please note there is a restricted head height on the mezzanine level and is only suitable for a child or teenager. There is no standing height and the hatch area is unprotected when the loft ladder is down. This level has high strength yacht netting in place to prevent anyone from looking over the mezzanine edge. Due to the staircase this property may not be suitable for some guests and is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
Outside is a decked area with seating and table for 3 people with immediate access straight onto Monmouth beach from the chalet. There is parking for one car behind the beach chalet. Your fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.
Lyme Regis, nicknamed 'The Pearl of Dorset' is the most westerly town in Dorset and lies on the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. The town is famed for its fossils which can be found on its beaches and cliffs. Lyme Regis has quite a history and is mentioned in the Doomsday Book. These days, areas of interest include the Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium which displays local fish and marine life from the Jurassic Coast. The Town Mill dates back to 1340 and is fully restored to working order and still produces flour which can be purchased from its shop. Lyme Regis Museum houses a large collection of local memorabilia, historical items and exhibits explaining the local geological and palaeontological treasures. Set into the pavement, outside the museum, is an ornate example of Coade stone work, in the form of ammonites. The Dinosaurland Fossil Museum is also located in Lyme Regis in the former church where Mary Anning, famous fossil collector, dealer, and paleontologist was christened.
