Overland is located in the village of Burton Bradstock, set in an elevated position in this very popular destination. The village is very well provisioned with the Three Horseshoes pub, the Hive Beach Cafe with it's stunning sea views, a post office and village store and the cliff top Seaside Boarding House Restaurant all within walking distance. The beach itself is made up of very small shingle, similar to pea shingle, which is lovely to walk along. The beach will be familiar to anyone that watches Broadchurch as it has featured on several occasions and all this is still within a comfortable walk from the cottage. There is lots to explore close by including Bridport just over 2 miles away with its markets, the West Dorset Golf Club is just over 1 mile away, Lyme Regis with its sandy beach and famous Cobb 13 miles away with the county town of Dorchester and more sandy beaches at Weymouth 16 miles away.
The accommodation at Overland comprises of a sitting room with electric fire set in a stunning red brick fireplace, Freeview TV and WiFi enabled throughout. The kitchen and dining area has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a washer/dryer as well as a range of accessories and utensils. The dining area has a large rectangular table with seating for nine. The ground floor also has a double bedroom making it ideal for guests with limited mobility as there is also a shower room on the ground floor. Upstairs there are four further bedrooms, a king size double with en suite shower, basin and toilet, two further double bedrooms and a single bedroom. The bathroom has a bath with separate shower, basin and toilet. A cot and highchair can be provided upon request.
Outside is a rear garden with lawn and decking complete with furniture from which you can enjoy the sea views. There is off road parking for three cars. Your fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.
With the stunning golden glow of the majestic sandstone cliffs and the shimmering radiance of Golden Cap, West Bay is the Golden Gateway to the Jurassic Coast. Formerly known as Bridport Harbour, West Bay lies just 2 miles away from Bridport and has a small harbour, 2 piers and 2 beaches one of which is part of Chesil Beach. West Bay was made famous as the location of a television series by the BBC called Harbour Lights, which aired in 1999 and 2000 and starred Nick Berry. At the top of the cliff lies the Bridport and West Dorset Golf Club with a full 18-hole course and 9-hole "pitch and putt" course in the summer season.
