Ducks Bottom is located in the small hamlet of Lower Eype. This is a very peaceful location and Ducks Bottom dates back to the 18th century and has chocolate box looks being detached and thatched with a wonderful garden. It is just half a mile from the beach and a mile to Bridport with it's weekly market. The closest shop is one mile away or simply go down to the beech and fish for your dinner.

The accommodation at Ducks Bottom comprises of a living room with open fire in inglenook fireplace and bread oven, equipped with TV, DVD player and radio/CD. Farmhouse-style kitchen/dining room with double oven, microwave, washer/dryer, dishwasher, freezer and quarry-tiled floor. Sitting room with ornamental open fire. Separate toilet.

First floor: Double bedroom with large en-suite bathroom with shower attachment and toilet. Twin bedroom. Bathroom with shower attachment and toilet. External summer house: Double bed plus living area with sofa-bed (for 2) and en-suite shower room with toilet.

Outside is a large lawned garden which includes a tree house. There is parking for 3 cars and your bed linen and towels are included in the price.

Area details


Bridport is a market town on the Jurassic coast. The clay cliffs are abundant with fossils making the area popular with fossil hunters. Its most famous landmark is the view of the conical Colmers Hill with small clump of trees aligned with West Steet. Bridport has an arts centre, cinema, library and museum. The museum includes an extensive exhibition of the town's long history of rope-making and is open 10am - 5pm daily except Sunday from Easter until the end of October. Entry and access to all exhibitions is free. The Bridport Literary Festival has been running since 2005 and has played host to the industries biggest names. The Food Festival is held in late June at Asker Meadow and showcases locally produced foods for which the area is well known. The Food Festival week concludes with the Round Table Beer Festival. The town holds its annual carnival on the third Saturday in August.
