Crabbs Bluntshay Cottage is located in the rural hamlet of Shave Cross in the centre of the Marshwood Vale. This 19th century semi-detached former farm worker's cottage is both well equipped and comfortable with retained features from its 19th century past such as the flagstone floor in the kitchen. The cottage has stunning countryside views and walks are available right from the doorstep.
The accommodation at Crabbs Bluntshay Cottage comprises of a sitting room with dining area that has a wood burning stove, Freeview TV, DVD player and CD/radio. The kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, a double, a twin and an adult bunk room. The bathroom has bath with electric shower over, basin and toilet. A high chair, travel cot and stairgate can be provided on request.
Outside is an enclosed lawned garden with a gravelled area complete with furniture. One well behaved dog is welcome to holiday with you. The closest shop is 5 miles away but the local pub is just a 10 minute walk. Roadside parking available for 2 cars.
Broadwindsor is a small village set in the beautiful countryside of West Dorset. It has been a popular area for a long time with evidence of occupation dation all the way back to 43 AD. The setting in the middle of the village is of lovely cottages with period houses and the village also features the Broadwindsor Craft and Design Centre, featuring local crafts. The village square is much-photographed, especially King Charles Cottage, the place where King Charles II stayed the night September 22/23 after his flight from the battle of Worcester.Read more
The Lewesdon and Pilsdon hills are local landmarks with Lewesdon deemed to be the highest in the county, but there is some good natured bantering as to whether or not Pilsdon is actually the highest hill. Lewesden hill is well worth a visit at Bluebell time.
Broadwindsor has a village shop and has one pub which serves food throughout the week. A short trip in the car will bring you to an array of many different options.Read less
