Burton Bay is a wonderful annex in the village of Burton Bradstock with far reaching sea views. Situated towards the West Bay side of Burton Bradstock you are looking down on Burton Bay itself with Hive Beach a very pleasant 20 minute walk away which can be enjoyed with up to two well behaved pets as Burton Bay is pet friendly. The village is very well provisioned with the Three Horseshoes pub, the Anchor Inn and the Hive Beach Cafe with it's stunning sea views, a post office and village store and the cliff top Seaside Boarding House Restaurant. The beach itself, Hive Beach, is made up of very small shingle and coarse sand, which is lovely to walk along and hunt out a fossil. The beach will be familiar to anyone that watches Broadchurch as it has featured on several occasions. There is lots to explore close by including Bridport just over 2 miles away with its markets, the West Dorset Golf Club is just over 1 mile away, Lyme Regis with its sandy beach and famous Cobb 13 miles away with the county town of Dorchester and more sandy beaches at Weymouth 16 miles away.
The accommodation at Burton Bay comprises of an open plan living area with large TV with home cinema system, a Platsation 3, WiFi and huge glass doors that connect the inside to outside. The dining room has table and chairs for two and the kitchen comes equipped with induction hob with electric oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The bedroom is a king size double with the shower room having a shower, basin and toilet. A cot and highchair can be provided upon request.
Outside is a patio garden complete with garden furniture in which to enjoy the sea views and plan your next day. There is off road parking. Your fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.
With the stunning golden glow of the majestic sandstone cliffs and the shimmering radiance of Golden Cap, West Bay is the Golden Gateway to the Jurassic Coast. Formerly known as Bridport Harbour, West Bay lies just 2 miles away from Bridport and has a small harbour, 2 piers and 2 beaches one of which is part of Chesil Beach. West Bay was made famous as the location of a television series by the BBC called Harbour Lights, which aired in 1999 and 2000 and starred Nick Berry. At the top of the cliff lies the Bridport and West Dorset Golf Club with a full 18-hole course and 9-hole "pitch and putt" course in the summer season.
