Backwash is one of sixteen purpose built holiday cottages converted from former farm buildings. Located in Charmouth it is perfect for exploring the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. There are a variety of leisure facilities available to guests at the neighbouring holiday park including an outdoor heated pool which is open 15th - 22nd Feb, 12th - 26th April, 3rd - 5th May, 24th May - 6th Sept and 25th - 31st October 2014.
The accommodation at Backwash comprises of a lounge with flat screen TV with Freeview and DVD player and a kitchen/diner equipped with integrated oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. On the ground floor you will also find a wet room with toilet. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, a king size double and two twin rooms. A bathroom with shower over bath, basin and toilet round off the first floor. A travel cot and high chair can be provided.
Outside there is a private patio complete with furniture. The beach, chops and restaurants are all within walking distance. There is ample parking available.
Lying at the mouth of the river Char and overlooking Lyme Bay stands Charmouth, hemmed in by the steep hills of Stonebarrow Hill to the east and to the west Black Venn. It is very picturesque and the National Trust controls significant portions of the scenic areas around the town. The area is noted for its fossils and is part of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. The area has a rich history dating back to the Iron Age and has had many royal visitors including Catherine of Aragon and King Charles II. There are a number of buildings in the village with listed status with many dating back to the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries.Read more
Charmouth has two traditional pubs, The George and The Royal Oak as well as a number of cafes including The Old Bank Cafe, the Charmouth Fish Bar and Pizza Cafe and the Beach Cafe.
